Photos From My First Maternity Photoshoot | Photography
Before I begin, let me begin by informing you that I'm not pregnant. I would love to experience pregnancy, childbirth (as painful as it was!) and the joys of cuddling a new and precious bundle of joy, but it ain't happening any time soon.
A younger cousin of mine, however, is expecting and due in less than a month. Recently, she called me and asked if I could shoot her maternity photos. Photography is one of favorite hobbies, so I humbly accepted the mission. I also informed her that I have never taken maternity photos, but I would do my absolute best.
I normally shy away from professional-like photography responsibilities because I'm not a professional photographer. I don't want anyone to be disappointed, expecting professional quality photos then receiving less than. Plus, I'm a perfectionist and I drive myself crazy worrying about editing or special photography ideas I have, but can't bring to fruition because of lack of know-how. You'll notice that some of my editing isn't 100%, but it's my best until I learn better. I played around with a few features and methods from online tutorials.
I recently purchased a couple of online courses through the Clickin' Moms website (they currently have a 50% off sale!) to learn some beneficial tips and methods. I'm even considering taking a few classes at a local community college.
Alright, enough words. Here are my favorite images:
I had so much fun photographing them! I realized that I love capturing warm, loving moments and they were open to all my pose suggestions. I basically had full creative control, which was perfect. Maternity photography and editing may just be one of my top passions! I'm a serial hobbyist, so it's hard to say for 100% sure at the moment. :-)
Thanks for visiting!
