Wordless Wednesday | Over the River and Through the Woods - Driving Lessons With Kids Under 10! 1/2
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I had a discussion about being more intentional with being more appreciative of our loved ones, especially our parents and grandparents. We're very close with our parents, but we don't visit our grandparents as often as we should. Focus on fulfilling our personal goals is vital, but it's much more momentous make ourselves available to spend time with our loved ones and I hope we display a great example of that to our children.
I didn't have the privilege of growing up knowing my biological grandparents before age 12. There were multiple circumstances that prevented that, however, I'm extremely grateful that my children not only have six grandparents they are very close with, but they also have six great-grandparents and one great-great-grandmother they know and will have memories to cherish from now into their adulthood.
A few weeks ago the boys and I spent a few hours at my paternal grandparent's home. I enjoyed receiving some wisdom from my grandmother. I learned that we have many of the same interests. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon.
Oops, this was supposed to be wordless...
"Over the River and Through the Woods to Grandfather's House We Go..."
A couple of weekends ago my family drove nearly two hours away to visit my husband's grandfather and his wife. We had a wonderful time. The kids absolutely loved it, so much that Gabriel was upset to to leave. We were treated to dinner at Golden Corral that evening.
When we first arrived, the kids fed the fish at the pond. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures on my camera :-( They had so much fun! Afterwards, we drove down the street on a Rhino, a few minutes away, to the lake. When we made it back to the house, the kids had their first driving lessons! Check us out! :-)
