Boys Day Out at the Oceans of Fun Splash Island Preview Event
*We were provided free entry into Oceans of Fun and other goodies to facilitate this review. All opinions are our own.*
Recently, my family was invited to attend the Oceans of Fun media preview event to experience their newest water attraction, Splash Island, a 4,200-square-foot interactive water feature.
I was unable to attend the event, as I had a previous obligation to fulfill out of state, however, my dear husband was able to step in and take my place so my 6-year-old son, ZJ, and husband, Zach, will take over from here :-)
The day of our arrival, the weather was kind of cool. For a newcomer, it may be wise to get a map so that you'll know exactly where Splash Island is located.
The kids enjoyed standing under the giant bucket and getting splashed.
"Water dumped out on me and it was freezing cold. There were frogs and turtles with water coming out and there was a snail. There was a spinning a flower with water coming out of it and the water was spinning." -ZJ
The kids loved running through the water jets coming from the ground.
"Me and Gabe were floating in the water and jumping in the water! There were little fountains coming out of the ground!" -ZJ
"There was another thing where you have to hold two waters down and then the third water goes super high and when you take your hands off it goes lower...
And I think that's all I can remember." -ZJ
We had a complimentary lunch at Chickie's & Pete's. The menu selection was limited, but the food was pretty decent.
"We ate a lot of food and it was good." -ZJ
"And we had soda!" -Gabe
There's a lot seating and shade for those who would rather not to sit out in the sun.
Overall. the kids enjoyed everything, it was a kid friendly atmosphere. It's perfect for parents to relax while the kids have a great time playing in the water. Be sure to keep an eye on your kids because not to far away is a 4ft. deep pool in Coconut Cove.
Photo update
We have visited Oceans of Fun multiple times since this post and I wanted to share some of my photos from a recent visit. It was within the last hour of closing time and it started pouring when we left so the sun wasn't shining as bright as the day my husband and sons went for the event.
