Our First Time at the LEGO KidsFest Was a Huge Hit! | REVIEW

As I type this, I can hear my kids rummage through their LEGO buckets in search of bricks to build impromptu LEGO structures to practice the interlocking skills they learned at the Master Builder Lab at the LEGO KidsFest.

The LEGO KidsFest is in Kansas City this weekend and my kids had an amazing time. There were so many areas featuring different activities to keep each child (and parent) busy building, learning, and creating. By the end of the night, while my husband and I complained of aching feet and ankles to one another, the kids had decided they wanted to visit a few more areas again before we left!

So, what was all their excitement about?

Prior to all this, what I didn't photograph is the LEGO Club membership station. With email signup members receive a magazine and bricks to create LEGO parrot figure.

While the boys were off doing their thing in the Mixels area, Phoenix and I stopped by the LEGO Friends area. After she finished building a few miniature people we took a picture together in the photo booth and she received a LEGO friends figure pack.

The kids and my husband spent time building cars followed by races on the ramps.

There's a Nexo Knight area where everyone can create power shields. Phoenix shield is so pretty!

ZJ and Kam had so much fun playing LEGO Dimensions. ZJ is begging for this for his birthday this month!

In the Master Builder Lab, they learned how characters are animated in movies and how to create strong LEGO structures through interlocking bricks.

For the Challenge Zone each group was given a task to build the same thing in our own unique way. Our challenge was to build an airplane. After the challenge, each kid received a LEGO pirate set.

They were playing LEGO Nexo Knights game on iPads.

For the last activity of the evening, the kids participated in a Star Wars relay race in which each team was responsible for finding each piece needed to create to full figure.

Guess what?

They won! After the race session, each child received a LEGO Star Wars figure pack.

Last, but not least are the figures! There were full-sized LEGO figures galore. There's a gallery full of animals, Marvel superheroes, Star Wars characters, and more. It was pretty cool! I took a lot of pictures, but I'll only share a few. I don't want to keep you here too long, I have a lot of other content for you to check out as well :-)

We were able to take a picture with Master Builder Chris! ZJ was so excited! A couple of months ago he wrote a little book called "The Master Builder".

The big question is: Do I recommend the LEGO KidsFest for other LEGO lovers? Absolutely! My kids really enjoyed it. They were all over the place, having a blast the entire time. Not once did they ask to  sit down and rest, although we did sit and have a few snacks. Also, bring a bag! Our arms were full with magazines, LEGO play sets, and photo booth pictures x3!

The one thing they did not do was play in the LEGO brick piles. They weren't interested.

This post is sponsored, but no worries, I'm 100% honest in my review. :-)

Thanks for reading!

  1. This is a great venue. I was here for a party and there was so much food and it was all done so well! The decor and food both were amazing. Personally, I think the space at event venues Chicago is laid out really well and the size of the venue keeps pulling great parties.
