She in 3D {6}: Meet DeAirra!

Hi Ladies!

This will be last She in 3D for 2014, but no worries! I have another great line-up of women coming in 2015 so subscribe so you don't miss out!

Today, I'm featuring a gorgeous wife and mother of 2 of the most well-behaved kids I think I have ever met! Lol. I am blown away by this lady's courage and reverence for the Lord. I met her this summer, you guessed it, at church. The first time we hung out during a family movie night with our husband and kids, with our friends Tiphanie and Ayanna and their families and she didn't say much. I could tell that she was kind of in gauge-mode, listening more than talking. The second time we got together for a ladies night (pics coming soon!), I guess we made a good impression on her because that evening, we all talked too much and laughed too hard and had such a wonderful time together! I'm sure everyone who knows her will agree that she's one of the sweetest, kindest people they know.

Everyone, meet DeAirra!

Hey gorgeous! Tell the readers about you and the family.
I am a sanctified blessed woman of God, devoted wife, and mother of 2 beautiful blessings, Dakyra (8) and Jamarr Jr. (6).  I am currently pursuing a Business Management degree. I love shopping, reading the word of God, and spending time with my family. Might I add that I am addicted to "YouTubing" natural hair styles/products and make-up application! Lol.

You and me both! YouTube is the spot. So, how did you grow into the woman you are today?
I have managed to shift my life into a spiritual realm that is quite "unexplainable". With the many obstacles, trails, and tribulations I have faced in my life it is only by His grace and mercy that sustains me that I have been able to make it to where I am today.

That's awesome. I love how you explained it as a shift into an "unexplainable spiritual realm". At this point in your life what do you believe is your purpose?
I believe that my purpose is to counsel, uplift, and inspire teenage girls. Being that I was a teenage mother, becoming pregnant at the age of 17 I believe that God is using me to instill values and morals into our youth.

What are three things in your life that you're are most {humbly} proud of today?
I am most proud of my relationship and connection with The Lord, being a dedicated wife, and God-fearing mother.

Tell us about a life altering situation or event that required some sacrifice on your end. How did you adapt?
Several years ago my house was broken into and I was held at gunpoint. Amongst many other traumatic events that followed, this tormented me non-stop. I would cry mostly all night and even during the day because of fear, for awhile I would not go to sleep until the sun came up operating on only a couple hours of sleep daily, I found myself overeating or not eating at all (which caused me to gain an overwhelming amount of weight), I was sad, consumed with anxiety, stress, and depression. Somewhere along the way, things got even worse. I developed Hypochondria (a Health Anxiety Disorder). I was convinced that I had every illness known, I encountered countless ER and doctor office visits due to this. I had no idea what stress could do to your body, which ultimately was causing the aches, pains, and sensations that I was actually having. I had to make up in my mind that ENOUGH was ENOUGH, I had to die to myself, and present my body as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to God I would no longer keep distressing myself regarding this traumatic experience. Although, everyday is a constant battle I choose to take better care of myself starting with the inside by creating better eating habits, working out, and relentlessly edifying my mind, body, and spirit. I remind myself continuously, "a life lived in constant fear, is really no life at all."

Now, that is a testimony for the books! Wow! Look at God! :-) Changing gears here a little bit, but still speaking on the past, do you look back, in retrospect, and think about situations you wish you could  have done differently? If so, what would it be?
Yes! If I could have done anything differently I would have waited until I was married to be intimate with any man. For I now fully understand that our body is a temple and it should be sacred and valued as such.

I'm with you 139% on that! If I could have a "do-over" I would have waited until marriage as well. How do you recover from moments of discouragement? What do you do to re-energize and keep a positive outlook in order to continue towards your goals?
I am so very grateful for my husband who has been a light through my darkest days, he encourages me when I am discouraged, he uplifts me with prayer and words of encouragement when my spirits are broken, he embodies intellect and I am just so thankful that God blessed me to be his wife. I re-energize myself with God’s word, planting myself in unwavering faith, and reminding myself of God’s promises for my life.

Absolutely beautiful. What advice do you have for readers regarding your life experiences?
I would like to encourage readers to keep going forward no matter what difficulties or adversities you face in life. Continue to trust God and know that He loves you unconditionally, free yourself from your negative emotions and bondage, and enjoy the roller-coaster of life while you are changing to better yourself in your spiritual growth and walk with Christ! We may not understand why we were chosen for a specific trial, but be willing to let God use you, and be reassured that He will never lead you where He won’t see you through.

Well ladies! What a great wrap up for She in 3D for 2014!

  1. Being held up at gunpoint in your own home! That would cause anyone emotional and psychological stress but she seems very inspirational!

  2. Love love love! Your testimony is amazing sis! Talk about a conqueror! I love your tenacity in tackling all that has come up against you. Facing your issues with a made up mind refusing to let them cripple you or cause you to remain a victim, and allowing what you've been through to make you stronger, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. You're amazing D! *sigh* God bless you and your family and everything that you all touch and endeavor to do. May he keep using you as a vessel to speak into people's lives to be so witness into Him and His greatness and to bring others to Him! I love you sis!

  4. What an amazing story and beautiful woman, inside and out. Sharing what you've been through helps us all. I once witnessed a crime and developed PTSD; it was a terrible feeling that was very difficult to control or get rid of. But knowing I wasn't alone and that there were explanations for the way I was feeling - and above all else prayer and holy spirit - gave me peace and understanding. I wish you the best.
