Savers Thrift Store Sneak Peek Event {A Thrifting Haul!}

*I received a Savers gift certificate for the items purchased. All opinions are most definitely my own.*

If you have been following this blog for a little while, then you know that I absolutely love thrifting and have found some really nice treasures :-) It's a fun experience because you go in, unaware of what you may find. It's like a treasure hunt. I usually go in, not looking for anything in particular, just because I know I'll find something good to add to my wardrobe or home interior.

A few weeks ago I was invited by Savers to join two other really sweet local bloggers {Mandy of Sugar Bee Crafts and La'Shonda of Fashion Place KC} on a thrifting excursion at their new location in North Kansas City and I of course I gladly accepted the invite!

Just in case you're unaware, Savers is a for-profit global thrift retailer offering great quality, gently used clothing, accessories, and household goods, so basically, it's a thrift store, hence the title. You can find some interesting detailed information about Savers at the end of this post.

Prior to shopping we met up at a nearby restaurant and had tasty non-alcoholic beverages, delicious appetizers, and conversing. We were given reusable shopping bags witha few goodies inside. At the store, I snapped a bunch of photos to get you all excited and thirsty to shop! Thank me after you visit!

Alright ladies! Let's get it started!

First, appearance of the store.

I visited the housewares section upon arrival. I was very impressed by the organization and good condition of the items.

Looking at this photo, I'm upset with myself that I didn't buy that gigantic 4-pc. candle holder set.
It would look so good on my fireplace.

My kids would go crazy in this area.
Dolls and small toy parts are organized in small bags.

I was so fucused on shoes for my kids and self that I forgot to snap a pic of the men's aisle!

Authentic Dooney & Burke handbag and wallet.
Real or nah?
A cute beach bag.
Kate Spade handbag.
Tory Burch on deck.

There were so many other things I didn't photograph like their jewelry stands, other clothing racks, and mens shoes. I highly suggest you visit the store for yourself. There were so many boxes of more items to restock the sales floor.

The sales staff was very nice and helpful.

My only complaint is that I did see some over-priced items. I'm a clearance shopper and have bought brand new clothing items for the same price as some of the used items at Savers, however, I'm abnormally cheap so my definition of over-priced may not be the same as yours.

Secondly, my finds.
$1.99
These are brand spankin' new. I bought  pair of these, but my son was wearing the other while I photographed these.
$1.99
$5.99 for the set. This was a really good find. It's huge and heavy!
$2.99
$2.99 Brand spankin' new. My daughter has to grow into these, they're a 3, she wears a 2.
$2.99
$5.99 for the set
$2.99-$3.99 - 2 pairs of jeans for my son and a high-low spaghetti strap top for me. It's gorgeous. The bag hangs down to the popliteal fossa a.k.a. back of my knee lol.
$7.99 - Sperry's for my daughter
.99-$2.99 - Seashell decor for my 9-cube shelf

Third, about Savers.
  • Selection: With over 10,000 new items placed on the sales floor every day, Savers offers a wide selection of clothing, home goods, and bed & bath products. It’s a thrifter’s paradise -  you never know what you’ll find!
  • Price: Most items at Savers are priced under $10, so you can pick up whatever you need – whether it’s new wardrobe or pieces for a DIY project – without breaking the bank.
  • Shopping Experience: Savers stores are organized into departments, with wide, clean aisles. Clothes are sorted by size to make finding your perfect look a lot easier.
  •  Community Support: Every Savers store partners with a local nonprofit to benefit the community. The North Kansas City Savers will partner with the Epilepsy Foundation of Missouri & Kansas.
  • Environmental Impact: Savers has kept over 650 million pounds of reusable goods out of landfills. To put that into perspective, 650 million pounds is equivalent to more than 3,000 Boeing 737 airplanes or 100,000 elephants!

Let me know what you think!

    1. Thank you! :-) Unfortunately, that location is about 30 minutes from my home so I haven't visited there since.
