The Perfect Winter Activity for Families!

Hey ladies!♥ ♥ ♥

As I mentioned in the Sea Life/LEGOLAND photos posts, my husband was on vacation from work and he was determined to make the best out his time off. He wanted our family to go out and partake in multiple fun family activities. What had happened was... :-) My sister-in-law called and asked if we wanted to go snow tubing. I can't even lie, at first I was thinking, "heeeck NO!" All I could think about was extra low evening temperatures, snow, and frost bite! BUT I wanted to be a good sport, try something new, and I was not about to let them go without me!

As it turns out, it was pretty frosty out, but the temperature was bearable. We were also dressed perfectly in layers and all waterproof clothing and gear {thanks Target and Walmart!}. It was a great experience. My kids loved it. I don't have that many photos of everything we did because I like to enjoy the moment, ya' know? But we went down the {700ft} hill in pairs, alone, we raced, we even went down altogether. It was such a blast.

You'll notice that in most of the photos there isn't any snow where we were standing or on the ground in nearby areas. Well, the snow wasn't produced by nature, it's artificial snow. I'm actually curious to know how long it took to add it all.

Kansas City metro readers: details and info about the location is at the bottom. :-)

Onto the photos!

I'm kidding.

Gabe and I took a break to get warm by the fire. It felt so good.

A few Instagram photos:

Yes I'm aware of how bad I look. I clean up nice though :-)

A message to moms like me who would rather not have outdoor fun when it's too cold for comfort...
I know it's cold and frosty outside and warm 'n' toasty in the house, but don't keep your kids cooped up all winter. Get up, get out, and do something- outdoors! Get some fresh air. Enjoy the season. Go sledding when your area gets some snow. Go ice skating at a local rink. Bundle up well enough and you'll be fine :-)

Location details: We went to Snow Creek in Weston, MO. There's also skiing {my husband has done that a few times} and snow boarding as well as lessons. No this isn't a paid advertisement (I WISH!). I'm just another satisfied customer :-)
